The Legacy Continues

The Central Ohio Alumni Association held its 4^th Annual Golf Outing but it’s inaugural “Sigs for Kids” Classic at Tartan East Golf Course on Sunday, June 8, 2008. Over the past couple of months, Mike DeAngelis (Delta Kappa '94) was a driving force behind this project. This event was the largest gathering of Sigma Chis in the metro area where approximately 1,400 Sigs reside. 8 Chapters were represented at this outing. Most importantly, this event raised just shy of $4,000.00 to the health and happiness of local Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation!

Brothers drove all the way from Cleveland to attend this event and support a great cause. We had many winners in a variety of golf categories, the team of Davis, Heicher, Scharver, and Van Nostran took home the 1^st place prize while a group of Delta Kappa Sigs which will remain nameless each walked away with ball retrievers for their efforts!

As the largest gathering of Sigma Chi Alumni in the Central Ohio area this year, this event provided not only a great alumni gathering, but also funding for area Children’s Hospital projects in the name of Ethan Scharver and Elizabeth Szasz. Plan to join us next year, get out for a day and join us on the course for golf, a drink (or three), and some great brotherly fun and laughter.

Not a golfer? Join us next year for cocktails, good, spirit (and spirits), silent auction, and fun. Just being around the brothers makes for an enjoyable evening.
