March 7th Luncheon at Athletic Club-a snowy success!

SPEAKER: Mike Ward- Alpha Gamma 91
TOPIC- Mike's experience serving in Persian Gulf, Iraq and the Reserve, flying in over 500+ missions during his career.
Mike Ward, Alpha Gamma 91, started his active duty career in the Marine Corps flying AH-1W Super Cobra helicopters with Marine Attack Helicopter 169 in Camp Pendleton, California in 1991. While there he was involved in 2 deployments in the Persian Gulf region. In 2000, he left active duty to attend the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University where he received his Masters in Business Administration. Following graduation, he began his present civilian career with American Electric Power. In 2002, he joined Reserve Marine Attack Helicopter Squadron 775 in Johnstown, PA. He was subsequently called back to Active Duty for a period of 2-years and was involved in 2 six-month deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He flew 600+ flight hours on 500 combat missions over Iraq, and was awarded 13 Strike/Flight Air Medals for his service. He is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Reserves and instructs Primary Navy/Marine Corps Flight Training in Pensacola for his monthly Reserve service. He is also the 2007 recipient of the Military Service Award, given by Sigma Chi.
