State of the Alumni Chapter- What is in it for you?

2007 was a year of continued progress for the Central Ohio Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter. By the end of the year we had accomplished many of our goals, and have set new ones for this coming year. Your commitment and involvement continue to pay dividends. Last year, our membership increased by 300%, we achieved a steady rate of attendees to our monthly happy hour and continued with our quarterly luncheon featuring prominent Sigs. And, we have a Steering Committee that is dedicated and effective in maintaining momentum.

This coming year provides us with more opportunities and challenges. We have over 1,400 alumni in the Columbus area from which we can all benefit tremendously, and we plan on reaching out to as many as possible. Our mission is simple, and remains the same. We want to provide an opportunity to:

Ÿ Maintain friendships, rekindle old ones and build new ones

Ÿ Establish a means of networking for professional opportunities

Ÿ Express the values of Sigma Chi through philanthropic activities

For this coming year, we’ve identified key initiatives that will deliver continued value to you, while balancing the demands of family and work. The following are highlights of the upcoming 2008 events calendar.

Ÿ March 7th Spring Luncheon at the ACC featuring brother Michael Ward, USMC

Ÿ March 14th Texas Hold Em Event

Ÿ May 31st Golf Outing with proceed going to several charitable causes

Ÿ July Clippers Family Outing

Ÿ 1st Thursday Every Month Brazenhead Happy Hour featuring “Bring a Bro-Get a Brew”

While we did realize some gains last year, we do have our set of challenges ahead. We have only a fraction of the 1,400 Sigs in the area signed up as paying members. If we mobilize just 10% of that into one organized effort, we can make more of an impact on the initiatives we've identified. With 25% of the local Sigs as paying members of one organization, we can move mountains. We need your commitment to sign up or renew your membership, and your help in getting others to join. We need all the local Sigs working together to have the desired impact.

Our continued success depends on you and your continued support. Go to http://www.centralohiosigs.com to find out more about us, register and keep in touch. Please feel free to give us your feedback and suggestions on how we can ensure that “you’ll find it here.”
